About the Role

Fiero Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a part-time basis. You will work closely with both in-house and external accounting teams to oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and effective internal controls. This role is critical in supporting our accrual-based accounting needs, particularly suited for professionals with backgrounds in manufacturing, import, and distribution environments.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight & Management: Lead and refine accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and General Ledger.

Technical Accounting & Optimization: Review current accounting practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop optimized processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Process Development: Establish, document, and maintain robust accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and providing in-depth reporting on performance against financial targets.

Monthly/Year-End Close: Manage and review month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.

Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control assessments on financial transactions and reports to maintain integrity and reliability.

Regulatory Compliance: Oversee and prepare regulatory filings, tax returns, and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.

Financial Reporting: Compile and present monthly financial statements and updates to the management team, offering insights and recommendations as needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within manufacturing and import/distribution businesses.

Expertise: Solid background in accrual-based accounting and in-depth understanding of financial statements, month-end/year-end close, and general ledger management.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.

Attention to Detail: Exceptional skills in accuracy, organization, and process development.

Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred.
